Jesus only a Man (Not God) in Islam

On December 25th, the Christians celebrate the birth of their God, Jesus, the Son of God. The Christians worship the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit as their God.

In Islam, we worship one God only, namely Allah, and no one else. In fact, Islam regards Jesus as one of the messengers of God just like Adam, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, and Muhammad:

“We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of Messengers; We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the Holy Spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you a Messenger with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride” Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay!” [Al Baqarah:87]

“Say ye: “We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma’il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and

that given to (all) Prophets from their Lord: we make no difference between one and another of them: and we bow to Allah (in Islam).” [Al Baqarah:136]

Some Christians believe Jesus is God because his birth without a Father (though in Matthew 1:16 stated that Jesus is the son of Joseph).

Islam does not believe that way. In fact, God explains in the Quran that the creation of Jesus is just like of Adam. Adam not only has no father, but no mother either, but that does not mean that Adam is a God. Islam regards Jesus as the son of Mary, not the son of Joseph because Jesus parent only Virgin Mary.

“The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him “Be”: and he was.” [Ali Imran:59]

God, in the Quran, order the People of the Book (the Jews and the Christians) to worship only one God and no one else like Jesus.

“O People of the Book! commit no excesses in your religion: nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) A Messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not “Trinity”: desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is One God: glory be to Him:

(far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.” [An Nisaa:171]

God also question Jesus, is Jesus ask people to worship him as a God, and Jesus said he never do that.

“And behold! Allah will say: “O Jesus the son of Mary! didst thou say unto men, ‘Worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah’”” He will say: “Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, Thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, though I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden.” [Al Maaidah:116]

Before Jesus born on December 25th O BC (though the historians say December 25th is not the birth date of Jesus, but Solstice Day), God in the ten commandment order people to worship Him only and no one else, including Jesus or the Holy Spirit (Gabriel in Islam belief).

Exodus:

20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Here is the God”s word in the Quran that state God is one:

“Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

And there is none like unto Him.” [Al Ikhlas]

May peace be upon you.

  1. I am a christian, however, we do share some truths. Jesus is a man, not God. He was born of the virgin Mary, by the power of God. When you say God has no sons, it is true that he does not produce other “Gods”, but both Adam and Jesus are men from God.
    There is no trinity. There are other things we can discuss..

  2. In Islam God has no son. Either this son in a form of Gods, human, animal, etc.
    Adam, Jesus, and all human beings are nothing but the creation of God. Not His “son!”

    God is the Almighty. He can create anything from nothing.

  3. Mr. Bisch, I am sad to say, you are not a Christian. Jesus is the Son of God, as he himself also states, The Father and I are one. Jesus was by no means just a MAN as you say. He is the saviour of the world. You should know this as a Christian.

    Do not claim to be something you are not! The Bibles criteria for a prophet is that should they lie, or the prophecy not occur, they are to be stoned to death because it is not of God. Jesus never lied, but the Quran says he did. [Al Maaidah:116. This means that either Christ is a lier, or the Quran is false. Personally i choose Christ because no fault can be found in him.

  4. You are wrong Philip.
    Jesus never claim that he is a God. He is just a prophet of God.
    Paul, the enemy of Jesus until Jesus die, that make a lie that Jesus is a God.

    Actually in the Bible the Unity of God also stated in the Ten Commandments of God in Exodus 20:
    20:1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. [Exodus 20:1-3]

    The verse below is a hard proof that Jesus and God is not a one person:

    In Gospel Matthew said how Jesus complain and cry: “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
    And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” [Matthew 27:46]

    The Jews and Muslims worship only One Almighty God.
    Yet the Christians go astray by following Paul’s lie and worship Jesus which is a human, as a God.
